AM-PM Automotive Tips: Why ASE-Certified Technicians Matter
Posted January 7, 2013
You wouldn’t hire a lawyer who hasn’t passed the bar to defend you in court, would you?
The same goes for auto repair. You can’t take your vehicle to just any White Bear Lake auto repair shop when there’s an issue. To get your car fixed correctly the first time, you need to take it to a reputable shop that employs top-notch technicians with the experience and savvy to get the job done.
But how do you know if a shop has quality technicians like these?
That’s where the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence comes in.
The ASE, or Automotive Service Excellence Program, was established in 1972 with the purpose of improving the repairs and service of auto shops across the nation.
When an auto service is ASE-Certified, it means their technicians have passed the rigorous testing standards set forth by the program and have at least 2 years of experience working at an auto shop. These tests are so difficult that only 1 in 3 technicians pass them on the first try!
Even if the technician passes, they’re not certified for life. Those with ASE credentials must retake the test every five years to retain their certification, just to make sure they’re up-to-date on all the latest in auto repair.
When a shop is ASE-Certified, it’s a win-win situation for the shop AND the customer. Patrons can rest easy knowing some of the best in the business are working on their vehicle, and the shop benefits from employing the most knowledgeable technicians in the nation.
At AM-PM Automotive, we’re proud to have the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence displayed in our window. For more information or to set up an appointment with one of our top-notch technicians, stop by or call us at (651) 426-0462.
