Beware! Stay away and save your money. 💰 hungry to say the least. I have one family member they already... took advantage of for over 5,000. So we bring our car to them for fixing thinking they are decent honest shop (at the time) until…… they tried to convince us our engine was bad when all we needed was gasket seals done. And we were told by am/pm we needed to swap it out for a new engine. Funny same diagnosis with my family member but with there transmission. Our engine is in fine working order besides the seals. Lazy mechanic swap out special where they benefit in the end financially. Less work for them And leave you broke when it didn’t have to end up that way. Other mechanics had a good laugh at there diagnosis of it all and how to fix it. And were insulted by am/pm giving other mechanics a bad name by doing this. Don’t be fooled by there religious concept inside. Either. It’s a front to look like honest good people.read more

the type of mechanics that give mechanics a bad name. don't trust them and don't even waste your time bringing your... car there for diagnosis. To start: changing 3 coolant hoses @ 3.5 hours was quoted at $900 while the hoses from range rover directly are each under $50 and I'd bet dollars to donuts when the other shop is done it will be one leaking hose.next; Oil was leaking onto spark plugs from valve cover gaskets causing it to run rough: the entire reason I brought it in yet had to pay for a 2nd diagnosis for this aside finding a leaking coolant hose @ $135 fee. Ended up being told I had so many codes pop up and there is metal peices in my oil that I need to replace the motor and it will be cheaper than repair. I asked cheaper than what as in what would it take to repair the motor and I was told an entire rebuild.(been driving the car fine since changing spark plugs before the coolant leak, drove the car there and to ANOTHER SHOP)they wanted to 1st replace the coolant hoses, to which I said let's figure out the motor before doing that and good thing because according to them the motor isn't even worth saving lol. Then as discussing how ridiculous it is to replace the motor he suggested doing an oil change to see if the problems go away because it is a variable valve timing motor which uses oil pressure as a sensor for the timing.so to conclude....maybe the timing chain is bad, maybe the motor and turbo are shot, maybe the spark plugs carbon tracking on the boots is causing misfire, maybe the fuel codes aren't from the computer compensating for the turbo not matching to what the computer is expecting from throttle or maybe these people are exactly what a lot of these reviews say. Several years ago, I had some trouble with a vehicle of mine and was looking for a really good repair company that... would be open and honest with me about what was causing my troubles. I was lead to check out AM-PM and was not disappointed and have been using their services ever since. Not only, did they help me get to the root of the vehicles issue but they also took good care of me with fair quotes and excellent service that comes with the best auto knowledge. I drive by several auto shops from Hudson to White Bear Lake. But the experience I get with AM-PM makes the effort worth it every time. BEWARE! Con shop. They pray on women and elderly. I had one of my customers come in, panicked, after she brought her... car to "AM-PM" for a routine oil change & tire rotation and they gave her a huge laundry list of items that "needed immediate attention". I own a repair/mechanic shop. But it's an hour drive from this customer, so for routine oil changes she uses local. Which is understandable. She sent me the invoices and asked me what I thought. I knew immediately that they were trying to play a fast one on her. So, I checked over the entire car for her. For free. Because I am made SICK by shops that con innocent people.Every item on the "fix list" was a lie. They quoted her $639 to replace a radiator that they claimed was leaking. The radiator has zero evidence of any leaks. I pressure tested the radiator as well as had the owner drive the vehicle for 1000+ miles and there has been zero leak or decrease in fluid in the overflow or the radiator. In fact, there has never been a decrease in coolant in the system, for as long as she has owned the vehicle. The radiator is not damaged or needing replacement. They did however break ALL of the push pins that hold the radiator shroud in place, because their technicians obviously aren't trained in how basic push pins are removed or installed.They told her that she had 5 bad lugnuts, so they couldn't rotate her tires unless she replaced those. They quoted her $117 for 5 lugnuts (that's without labor, that's ONLY for the lugnuts). Lugnuts for this car are between $1-2 each. So that's approx. 1000% ($100) markup on 5 lug nuts. There was not a single bad lugnut on the car. Lugnuts RARELY need to be replaced, especially on a car only 13 years old.They stated that the air filters were dirty and needing replacement. I removed both air filters in question. They both looked brand new, like they were replaced within the last few months. Another blatant lie. I would suspect they never even checked the filters.About the only thing they did do right, was the oil change. Although, they charged $8.99 a quart for basic synthetic oil. Which is about 4x markup. I pay less than $2 a quart for bulk Mobil 1 synthetic oil. So $8.99 a quart is egregious. That's almost $50 just in oil markup on a 6.5qt system. But I get it, gotta pay the bills.They claimed one of the rear brake calipers was sticking. Which I know to be 100% false because the brakes were just entirely replaced a couple months back, and they all operate free and as they should, with zero issue. I have driven the car hundreds of miles myself to check this issue. Zero issue.I have photo proof that shows everything they quoted was a lie.They tried to juice this customer out of $1000+ for completely unnecessary items that are easily proven as not needing repair by anyone that knows anything about vehicles. She simply brought her car in for an oil change, and they tried to take her to the cleaners.This type of horrible business practice puts a bad name on everyone in the automotive repair industry, and I am tired of it. The audacity for them to use scare tactics on women and elderly, absolutely disgusts me. Honesty goes a long way in the automotive field, and they aren't honest. Do not trust them with your vehicle or your money.read more

Fit me in at the last minute to make sure that my vehicle was OK to go on a trip.I previously gave this business a 4... star rating for the service mentioned above. A few weeks ago I had them switch out a tire for me. Yesterday I was driving on the freeway, heard a loud thumping noise, pulled over and had people tell me the wheel was wobbling. Limped over to a tire repair place and they said the lug nuts were loose. Could have ended tragically. Changed my review to a 2 star.read more

They seem competent, but the creepy, culty religious stuff all around the waiting room made us decide to go elsewhere... after getting a quote for service. When the shuttle (old pick up truck) guy picked me up to get me back to the shop, the first thing he asked me was, "what are your thoughts on the covid shot?", trying to engage me in political discussion. They should stick to fixing cars.read more

I stalled out right in the parking lot in front of am pm and was very impressed with Greg and Tricia both were very... professional especially while multi tasking between phone calls and customers at the counter. I broke down at 10 p.m made an appointment online and was in the next morning by 8:30. Greg took the tone to deal with the warranty which made it much easier and the repair was easily covered by the warranty. They also are working to get the car back same day so I don't have to miss any time at work. Highly recommend 👌. Thanks again Gregread more

We recently took our vehicle to AM-PM Auto Repair for a major repair ( engine replacement and more ! ) . The engine ... had to come from out of state . The work was finished one week sooner than we were told and a few hundred dollars less than the quoted price. Very please with the professional work and great customer service . We highly recommend this shop for auto repair .read more

I had my plow truck in for an oil change and a routine inspection. When going over the truck the mechanic noticed my... drivers side front wheel was loose. He brought me back to the truck and demonstrated the issue. Turns out to be a ball joint had come loose and the vehicle was not safe to drive, especially not safe to plow with. This was on a Friday before New Years and the 12 inches of snow we got just after the Holiday. I needed my truck! They quickly gave me a loaner vehicle, fixed the truck over the weekend and the owner Greg opened the office on New Years Day holiday for me to come and pick up the truck before the storm hit. These guys are awesome!read more

I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Decided to check them out because I did not want to drive to 45 minutes... to my trusted mechanic in Cambridge for routine maintenance. After they finished the oil change, they told me that they could not do the tire rotation due to my lug nuts all being bad. They also told me my radiator was leaking and that my air filters are bad. I just bought this car in August and had the breaks and rotors replace a week after buying it. My normal mechanic would have mentioned if there were other things wrong, like the lug nuts being bad.I was very skeptical as AM PM was telling me all these other things were wrong with my car. So, I had my car friend check them out, and he has years of experience working on cars, turns out my lug nuts were just fine, my radiator was not leaking, and my air filters were brand new!I had them print me all the estimates for these services, and the math did not seem to add up on one of them. They quoted only 5 lug nuts, I would hate to see how much replacing all lug nuts on all the tires would cost, not even including labor.I am very glad I did not get anymore services done because they were trying to get me to pay for work that is unnecessary to do at this time. I don’t think they are as honest and trustworthy as they claim. Will not be going back.read more

I’ve spent almost $10,000 in 6 months with these guys. They forgot fill my rear axle with fluid after a brake job,... killed a circuit that controlled my heat & now the newly installed starter went out while my truck is on a work site. All on my work truck. I’m having them fix this & then never using them again.read more

These guys are the best in the business. They've been taking care of my 2006 Honda CR-V since my mom bought it new, and... have continued to take excellent care of it since she passed it to me in 2015. They've taken care of me from maintenance to emergencies, and they're always willing to work with me. Cannot recommend them enough, I will (and have) tow my car a good distance to be seen by them before I'll take it anywhere else!read more

TERRIBLE If you want to get almost get physically hurt or taken advantage of. AM PM AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR is your go to... place. Their mechanic Bryan almost physically touched me. As he got in my face and almost wanted to push me. As I went to close my car hood. All on their camera, all this because I was asking questions to there $3900 dollar estimate. Their own words this can probably fix the problem to start off. Like what they never gave me a legit diagnosis kicked me out. Which I had brought my car in for a simple Check Engine Light Diagnosis. I never saw paper work and I also got kicked off their lot. Because I asked questions and according to them I refused to pay. Which was why I was asking questions, they couldn't expect me to go by thier word right? I pulled out my phone and started recording. There was no need but once he got in my face and refused to give me paperwork.I realized they were caught and their only way out was to kick me out and threatened to call the police. Which I did, because I wanted my paperwork to see what was diagnosed. They kicked me off refusing to give me paperwork after the work was done NOT before. They erase my review because they don't not want to get exposed. I had the WORST experience, and like always the Cops took their side. Because they are a White establishment. And I am a Latino we see it all the time. Is this how you treat customers, and show your imagine. Does Bryan your mechanic represent your shop like this? By almost physically hurting a customer. Anyone who sees this they are going to ERASE this review. I will continue to post. Because they need to be exposed. We don't come to these White Establishments to get treated different or to be racially profiled. To any one reading this choose another place! WORST PLACE TO GO TO.read more

My car needed to have some work on a wheel bearing and brakes. I drive a Smart car but they said they could do it after... I called other places who said they wouldn't. Work was excellent and I'm back on the road in full working order.They also have a loaner car if you need to still be mobile while yours is being serviced.All around excellent people to talk to and explain what their safety inspection finds. Nothing like some of those less reputable companies. I'll be using them as my main place for all future mechanical issues.Thanks for being so good and getting my car back to driving properly.read more
